So much of my New England childhood was spent surrounded by nature and creating with the materials around me. So it is no wonder that the natural world is what most inspires my art today. Having explored a variety of mediums throughout the years, my expressions are best conveyed through clay, colored pencils, and pastels. Clay is delightful to shape, carve, and impress. It is both humbling and awe-inspiring to work with the very earth beneath us that man has used since prehistory to create objects. Most of my current ceramic work is in the form of wall pieces and tiles. A new line of silver animal-themed jewelry is based on my small clay carvings and is cast using the ancient lost wax process. Pastel pencils are my choice for landscape drawings and colored pencils for my animal designs. I currently reside in southern California where I find unending inspiration in the mountains, deserts, ocean and skies.
